SICK LEAVE
Administrators and 12-Month Employees 1 day per month (12 per year)
10-Month Teachers 1 day per month (10 per year)
11-Month Teachers 1 day per month (11 per year)
12-Month Teachers 1 day per month (12 per year)
Cooks and Aides 1 day per month (10 per year)
Bus Drivers 10 days per year
Teacher Assistants & Nurses 10 days per year
Sick days are given at the beginning of each year. Sick leave days can accumulate indefinitely.  Upon retirement, the employee will be paid $25 per day for all accumulated sick leave days.   
BUSINESS DAYS
Administrators and Teachers 4 days (Docked $40 per day)
12-Month Support Staff 4 days (Docked $20 per day)
Any business days remaining at the end of the school year will convert to 1/2 sick day leave per business day left.
VACATION DAYS
12-Month Employees 10 days (after first year as a 12-month employee.)  On completion of the 11th year the employee will receive 10 days plus one day for every year over 10 years until a maximum of 20 per year are earned.
12-month employees may accumulate a maximum of 20 vacation days to carry over year to year.  Upon retirement, the employee will be paid for accumulated vacation days according to his/her current per diem rate/day up to a maximum of $5,000.
HEALTH INSURANCE
The School Board pays $435.00  per month toward premium ($5,220.00 annual premium). Open enrollment is your beginning hire date and July 1st every year.
RETIREMENT:   VIRGINIA RETIREMENT SYSTEM
The School Board pays the employee's 5% contribution to the plan plus employer's share of retirement contribution.
GROUP LIFE INSURANCE
The School Board pays for life insurance in the amount of twice the employee's annual salary through VRS
PAYMENT DISTRIBUTION
Annual salary is divided by 12. You receive 12 equal checks if you work all your days or have sick/business/vacation days to cover your days missed. If you miss a day without a sick/business/vacation day to take, you will be deducted the number of days missed the following month after your absences are reported.
