Higher Program Scholarship. <=
/span>The MECC Appalachian Inter-Intermountain Scholars
(AIMS) Higher Program encourages Virginia-resident students in grades 8-12 =

Lee, Scott, Wise, Dickenson Counties and the City of Norton to complete a
challenging curriculum and to pursue higher education. Students who graduate from high sc=
hool
and meet the program guidelines will have the opportunity to attend up to t=
wo year’s
(72 semester credits) of college without paying any tuition. In order to qualify, the graduate =
must
attend Mountain Empire Community College full-time during the fall semester
immediately following spring graduation from high school. Students must achieve a grade of at
least a “C” or better in each of the approved high school cours=
