*= SunTrust Off To College Scholarship Sweepstakes. High school seniors= can win a $1000 scholarship for their first year expenses at a college or priva= te career school. One winner wil= l be chosen every two weeks from October 30, 2009 through May 14, 2010. Enter online at offtocollege.info beginning September 14, 2009.

*= The Christian Connector Inc. The Christian Connector provides a free Christian college information service as w4ell as a $2500 Christian college scholarsh= ip drawing. Students can simply = log onto www.christianconnector.c= om to request information and automatically be entered in the $2500 scholarship drawing.

*= The Gloria Wille Bell and Carlos R. Bell Charitable= Trust. = Seniors interested in attending the University of Michigan and = pursue a degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer math or related fie= ld. Applications can be found online at www.bellscholarship.org.

*= Tuition Assistance Grant (TAG). Seniors who are Virginia residents and will be a full-time student at a Virginia Private College are encouraged to apply.

*= 2010 NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award. Apply online starting October 31, 2009, at =

*Lee County Optimist Club Scholarship.= Lee County residents who are gradu= ating seniors, who are enrolled in ( or in the process= of enrolling in) an accredited college ort univers= ity are encouraged and will be eligible to apply for a one-time scholarship. Deadline: 4-30-2010.

*= Rosanna G. Cavin Memorial Scholarship. = Females planning to pursue a degree in physical education are encouraged to apply f= or this scholarship.

*= Agriculture Scholarship Fund. = Lee County Farm Bureau has established the Agric= ulture Scholarship Fund for seniors planning to attend college and whose family is actively engaged in production agriculture. Applications can be picked up in t= he Guidance Office. Deadline: 4-= 25-10.

*Wha= tWillTheyLearn.com. This resource was launched= in August by the American Council of Trustees and Alumni, an independent, non-profit dedicated to academic excellence. And it offers information you can’t get anywhere else-information about college education, not just reputation.

*= Boones Path Lions Club Scholarship= . Thomas Walker High School seniors interested pursuing a four year scholastic program leading to a Bachelors Degree with not less than a “C” scholastic average are encourag= ed to apply. Deadline: 5-7-10.

*Cla= ude and Ruth Long Berea Scholar= ship. Seniors who plan to attend Berea C= ollege are encouraged to apply for the $500 scholarship. Deadline: 5-1-10.

*= William H. Starnes Award For Excellence In Agriculture. = This award is given in honor of William H. Starnes, a pioneer in agricultural educatio= n in Southwest Virginia. The award= will be given annually to the graduating senior at Thomas Walker who has the hig= hest cumulative grade point average in agriculture courses over the standard instructional period of four years. The scholarship amount is $200.&nbs= p;

*Lee County Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship.<= span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'> There will be five $500 scholarships awarded to Lee County resident= s or students who plan to pursue a career in the medical or health care field. Applications may be picked up at t= he reception desk at the hospital from 9:00 to 5:00. Deadline: 5-15-2010.

*= Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity Tennessee Gamma Chapter Balanced Man Scholarship. = There will be two scholarships going to two outstanding freshman males entering E= ast Tennessee State University at the beginning of next school year. These scholarships will be awarded= to any incoming male students who embody the principles of the Balanced Man. The aim is to recognize and reward= men who strive to achieve balance in addition to all-round excellence.

*Pat F. Roller Scholarship. T= he sole purpose of this scholarship as directed by the Last Wil= l and Testament of Pat F. Roller, is to fund a college scholarship for a deserving student from Lee County, VA. Deadline: 6-15-2010.
