*= AIMS Higher Program Scholarship. <= /span>The MECC Appalachian Inter-Intermountain Scholars (AIMS) Higher Program encourages Virginia-resident students in grades 8-12 = in Lee, Scott, Wise, Dickenson Counties and the City of Norton to complete a challenging curriculum and to pursue higher education. Students who graduate from high sc= hool and meet the program guidelines will have the opportunity to attend up to t= wo year’s (72 semester credits) of college without paying any tuition. In order to qualify, the graduate = must attend Mountain Empire Community College full-time during the fall semester immediately following spring graduation from high school. The TLP Scholarship is open to the eligible dependents of all TLP tobacco growers who currently have an agreem= ent or will have an agreement with Philip Morris USA or U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company, signed by March 31 of the award year and prior to the upcoming academic year. *= VSGA Scholarship Program of the Virginia Golf Foundation. = Any Virginia high school senior in good standing who have an interest in golf a= nd will attend college within the commonwealth are encouraged to apply. The criteria for a scholarship are= based on academic achievement, an interest in golf (skill level not important), character and financial need.

*= ASSE International Student Exchange Scholarships. Offers two types of scholarships for its Academic Year Programs. Both are awarded primarily on the = basis of financial need and secondarily for academic excellence. A “B+̶= 1; grade average (3.4) is the minimum required to apply for these scholarships. *= Christian Character and Leadership Scholarship. Criteria for the awa= rd includes evidence of Christian character, demonstrated leadership ability, = and a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.5.
