Principal Terry Welch

Experience & Education
Mr. Welch began his administrative career as the Assistant Principal of TWHS for 2004-2005. He moved to his current position as Principal for the 2005-2006 school year. Prior to his administrative service, Mr. Welch was a Math teacher. He has a combined 16 years of teaching experience. Fourteen of the years were spent at Thomas Walker while two of the years were spent at James A. Cawood High School in Harlan, Kentucky. Mr. Welch obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics in 1988 and a Masters of Arts in Principalship in 2001 from Union College.
On a Personal Note
Mr. Welch enjoys outdoor activities with hunting and fishing being two favorite activities. He is proud of his traditional values & beliefs, his family, and his Christianity. His goal is to be an effective school leader who helps the students, community, and staff attain success. He feels the most challenging part of his job is being the person in charge of making unpopular, yet necessary decisions. His desire to serve the public led him to his career in education. He advises future students, parents of students, and teachers of TWHS to take comfort in knowing that hard work eventually pays off.

Edward S. Grabeel

Experience & Education
Mr. Grabeel began his administrative career as the Assistant Principal of TWHS for 2005-2006. Prior to his administrative service, Mr. Grabeel was a Technology Education Instructor for 12 years at the Lee County Career & Technology Center. He served as adjunct faculty for the Lincoln Memorial University Department of Education. Mr. Grabeel obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Industrial Technology Management Systems in 1992, a Masters of Education in Curriculum & Instruction, and an Education Specialist Degree in Administration & Supervision in 2002.
On a Personal Note
Mr. Grabeel enjoys hunting, reading, and working in Fire & Rescue. His goal is to maintain a school in which everyone can be proud. Mr. Grabeel enjoys working with good people, having great students, and a quiet working environment. He feels the most challenging part of his job has been the transition from teaching to administration. He views switching from industry to education as the best job change he ever made. His new job offers a fun filled day with never a dull moment.
