In Wednesday night's basketball action the Lady Generals defeated the Powell Valley Vikings 59 - 42. Alex Hounshell and Krista Haynes each scored 15 points, while teammate Alexa Orr added 14.

In boy's action, the Generals were leading in the final seconds of regulation when the the Vikings were sent to the free-throw line. Both shots were missed, but as the teams fought for the rebound, Chris Johnson was (much to the fans disagreement) called for his fourth foul sending the Vikings once again to shoot two. This time, Brad Robbins sunk both free throws sending the game into overtime with the Generals finally losing the game 75 - 71. Bobby Stafford was the team leading scorer with 20 points while his younger brother Gary added 15.

Defense proved too much for the Bearcat's inside game.

The Lady Generals took the lead early and never looked back. Team ball and a strong showing from the bench proved to be the key to the 49 - 30 win. The J. V. Girls were also in high spirits as they captured their first district victory.
