Welcome to the School Nutrition website. All schools operate a lunch and breakfast program through the U.S Dept. of Agriculture. All lunches and breakfasts meet Federal requirements and are available for free and reduced prices to eligible students. Full price for students at the Elementary and Middle School level is $1.50 for lunch and .80 for breakfast. Full price at the high school level is $1.75 for lunch and 1.00 for breakfast. Reduced prices are .40 for lunch and .30 for breakfast. Adult meals are $2.50 for lunch and $1.50 for breakfast.
Lunch menus must provide one third and breakfast menus must provide one fourth of the recommended levels of protein, calcium, iron, Vitamin A, Vitamin C and calories.
All school menus are posted weekly in the Powell Valley Newspaper.
Family applications for free or reduced meals are distributed at the beginning the school year and to all newly enrolled students. They may be submitted at any time during the year. Once a child's eligibility has been determined, it is in effect for the entire school year. However, households may always reapply to improve their benefits.
